the banks plans for this year: charge you for all they can

So i was listening to Londons LBC on the radio earlier today where i happened to stumble across some financail advice phone in. It shocked and depressed me to hear a financial expert telling people to be careful with using banks this year as due to them being short on money now they will be looking to recapitalise themselves. So for example will be trying to gain as much money back to themselves as they can. To bridge the shortfall i imagine.

This is hard to comprehend really when we have just bailed them out big time in the last few years.

I do wonder waht kind of operation they run down at these banks. Do they just piss money up the wall or waht. They seem useless at being able to keep hold of any and almost gambling our money away iressponsibly i must add.

So the way they will do this is by keeping as much of our money back as they can be either keeping interest rates deliberatly low for us or if we go over into the red one month charge us to the hilt for it. All this is bad form really from the banks who already are becoming the nations favourite sector to hate. I think they got to be careful or they will end up with people removing their money in a large amount and taking it elsewhere.

Whilst this continues in the banking sector this disgraceful practise the tory lead government of ours thinks its ok to keep the banks unregulated and timidly taxed in terms of their ridiculously huge bonus's. Something must be done to clamp down on thisindustry which seems to be a law to itself.

capitalism is on its knees why are we continueing to prop it up ?

Happy new year and lets keep this movement going

So as 2010 draws to a close tonight i reflect on what has been a big year for me and for the world. We now have a coalition governemnt tory lead with liberal democrats in toe for the first time in a good while. Getting to work on slashing the deficit and cutting like there is no tommorrow.

2010 will be reemembered for the year the young population and students more so finally woke up and bravely began the fightback against these harsh savage cuts. The students have started the ball rolling so to speak with protests on the streets. Now it is up to the rest of us trades unions included to ramp up the pressure on the governemnt to back down on these unessesary cuts.

As the phrase goes when they say cutback ... we say .... fightback.

I think that will be one of the major themes for next year lots of strike action being called from public sector workers who will face growing pressure to relieve people from their jobs to save money.

Next year will be the big royal wedding as it is being billed between Prince William and Kate Middleton this will have to be carefully carried out by the royals to not appear to be lavishing it up too much whilst the rest of the country suffers from deep harsh cuts.

I feel one of the biggest stories going into the early part of next year certainly january and febuary with the VAT going up to 20% from the 4th of january will really start to hit home with petrol prices going through the roof for drivers. I wouldnt be surprised if we saw fuel strikes once again with supplies being disrupted.

All in all 2011 promises to be another interesting year with a glimer of hope coming from those who are starting to mobilise on the left to take action and stand up and be counted. It will also be a interesting year for our countries opposition party. The labour party with Ed miliband in charge. Ed it has been said has got off to a slow frustrating start if more of this continues and say they dont win the Oldham East bi-election i think pressure will start to mount on him. Saying that he could have a shadow cabinet reshuffel and come back storming the government and stamping his mark on the party and the country as a whole.

I do think we have a long way to come out of this economic crisis and 2011 will not be the end of it. Whilst i try to remain positive about next years prospects it is tricky to see where these cuts will leave us when they are all done.

For myself a prospect of a open university course starting in Febuary in socail science will be very interesting for myself. I am looking forward to this a hell of a lot. It is a chance for me to further my knowledge in this area and fill my time with some good study. I was very lucky to get on the course and get fully funded before the open university will have its budget cut from this tory lead coaliton so i feel very thankful.

The royal wedding under a dark cloud of gloom

So we learn today that Prince William and his long term girlfriend Kate Middleton are getting married next year. How inappropriate seeing as next year is when the spending cuts will be biting at most. How dare David cameron claim this is a cause for national celebration. Does the man not live in the real world ?
most ordinary working people are living in permenent worry of not knowing if their job is going next year and if they will be a ble to afford their mortgage repayments. They are also finding life tough with child benifit being cut .

So in the face of all this our good old royal family choose next year as their back drop to celebrate by splashing some of our own cash.

Why should tax payers have to pay anything towards their wedding. They are just human beings, just happen to be born into a rich family so waht ?

I dont think people would be half as bothered about this if we werent al feeling the pinch from the spending cuts from the coalition gov.

On another note how dare David cameron even think in the first place it is acceptable to put his own "vanity project" photographer on the public civil service payroll. He has now retracted this move but what gave him the idea in the first place that using public money was a wise idea in this current financial climate ?

sometimes i just think he loves to lord it up in front of us to rub it in what he and his nasty party are doing to the country and the less well off.

All in all this is not good news and the condems idea to bury bad news will not go unoticed by myself and others in opposition to the government.

Lets just hope we get a day off for this anyway
